The key to this and any avocado toast – fresh guacamole and fresh bread. We like the added flavour of sourdough for this recipe and the combination of that, the guacamole, and the sweet & spice of the Original Gordo’s Honey Heat is a show stopper for a light lunch with a friend or afternoon snack with just you and the dog. Like so many of our recipes, this is one where you hold the avocado toast in one hand and the bottle of Gordo’s Honey Heat in the other…and go to town with every bite!

Serves 4

  • Sourdough Bread, 4 large pieces
  • 2 large garlic cloves for guacamole finely diced
  • 2 large garlic cloves for toast, cut in half
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • ½ small white onion, diced

  • 1 Jalapeno, finely diced (seeds in or out)
  • 1 lime – juiced
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp Maldon sea salt

  • Slice avocados in half and remove the pit. Spoon into a bowl. Mash with a fork to the consistency of your liking.
  • Add garlic, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno, lime, and salt and mix together
  • Toast bread and rub each piece with halved garlic as they come out of the toaster
  • Spread a healthy helping of guacamole over toast
